As the seasons are switching, so are the styles of clothing in name-brand stores. The mall transforms from racks to sweaters to shelves of tank tops. Two similar stores found in almost any shopping center, American Eagle and Hollister, are in battle to prove: Which brand is better?
According to past experiences, American Eagle and Hollister jeans are completely different. Hollister jeans fit different. Hollister is designed to fit anyone who wants to wear them. In American Eagle, to wear their jeans, you have to be a certain type of fit. Hollister jeans are softer and more flexible. American Eagle are the type of jeans that only fit if you’re a certain size. It also depends on the size you get too. American Eagle jeans are sized differently as well. They’re sized with even numbers, which means not everyone can wear American Eagle. Hollister has a size for everyone.
“I always buy jeans from Hollister because of their fit and price. They are much more affordable and comfortable.” says sophomore, Casey O’Connor.
Now, there is also a big difference in price. Hollister has sales many times throughout the year making their jeans 25 dollars. If they are not 25 dollars, the typical range is 30 to 50 dollars. On the other hand, American Eagle’s price is different on every type of jean they have. What type of jean you get determines your price. The price of American Eagle jeans range from 50 to 75 dollars. So, according to the price difference and the size difference, Hollister should be the clear winner, but American Eagle still has more to bring to the table.

“American Eagle is my favorite store to shop in because of the types of clothes and jeans they sell.” says sophomore, Carley Mayes.
American Eagle has a larger and more popular section of mens clothing. American Eagle also has a store credit card where you can put all of your purchases on it to receive points. Once you get enough points, you can receive deals, coupons, and even free pairs of jeans. American Eagle is also partnered closely with Arie, another top brand in the clothing industry. If you get a gift card to one of the stores, you can use it at another.
