Summer break is practically here. College students are mostly out of school and back at home for the summer and seniors have had their last days. As it gets closer and closer to warmer weather here in Ohio, many families are anxiously waiting to take their annual trip to the beach. There are many beaches that a lot of people enjoy traveling to and those are Hilton Head Island and Myrtle Beach. Hilton Head Island and Myrtle Beach are both located in South Carolina. Even though these two are only a few hours apart, they are very different. If you are looking for a nice, relaxing, and chill vacation, then Hilton Head is the best place to go. There are plenty of things to see and do, but it is not a so called “city life.” My family and I have been going to Hilton Head Island for as long as I can remember. We have tried to change it up a few times but have never enjoyed any other place more than Hilton Head.

“There is just a feeling of comfort when we’re on vacation there. Nobody is ever in a bad mood there it seems like because it is such a happy place and feels like home.” Says Mike Budd when asked to compare Hilton Head Island to Myrtle Beach.

“Myrtle beach was way different than I expected it to be and I guess I was so used to our usual vacations that I expected more out of it.” He continues.

“The amount of commercial businesses, billboards, and many other things didn’t make it feel like a unique trip.”

I did some searching to see which vacation spot that families mostly prefered and Hilton Head outweighed Myrtle Beach by a lot.

When searching on Tripadvisor, one man said “ Form a slightly different perspective, Myrtle beach is geared towards singles, groups of guys that want to play golf and younger couples that want to stay up late. hilton head is more geared towards families”

Which trip would you rather take; nonstop party and play vacation, or a relaxing and comforting vacation?
