We all read every day, whether it’s a billboard, a newspaper, or a good book. Words are everywhere you go. It is a basic need in life is to be able to read and comprehend. Exercising your brain everyday is reading everyday, it is great brain power and it makes you smarter. Reading improves brain function and also helps with comprehension.
“I do agree that reading helps you with your memory and with making you more intelligent, I love reading.”, says Alexis Higgins, resident in Wadsworth.
Over the years people have labeled reading a way to reduce stress also by lowering our heart rate and blood pressure. Curling up with a good book could relax you and benefit you educationally as well as intellectually. A good amount of people often do enjoy reading a good book. Reading has also been known to increase empathic skills.
“Reading does reduce stress for me actually, I never realized that everytime I’m reading a good book I’m relaxed and in a whole world of my own.”, says Higgins.
Some have even said that reading has been linked to longer lifespans and healthier lifestyles overall. There are numerous reasons why people read, such as knowledge, to learn what the book or article is about. Entertainment, reading a funny story or a tragedy. In school you would mostly be reading for educational purposes, at home or possibly at work you may read for enterainment purposes.
“I like the Harry Potter series, and I did like some of the books I read in school, but I didn’t like reading to learn about something that was not interesting to me.”, says Higgins.
Overall reading is very good for a person and it can increase intelligence as well as reducing stress, increasing empathic skills, learning, and entertainment. We read everyday and you may live a long great life if you love to read.
