When comparing online and in store shopping, most people do not even realize that they consistently do both. These days, people shop on the weekends, after work, during work, and a whenever they have the time. Some people really enjoy shopping while others hate the whole process of buying things. Those who dislike shopping will try to find ways to find what they want as quickly as possible and then move on with their day. Whether you decide to go to a real store or shop through your computer, there are advantages and disadvantages to consider.
When it comes to seeing, touching, and trying out a new product, there is no substitute for actually going to the mall and seeing the item in person. Customers cannot always tell what merchandise is really like by seeing a picture of it on the Web. The color may be somewhat different online than it appears in real life. The exact size and proper fit may be critical when it comes to clothing on the other hand, if they want to buy a product that they have already used and are familiar with, the hands-on experience may not be so important.
“Going to the mall to shop is one of my favorite things to do. I do not get the same experience from shopping at home.” says Morgan Porpora, junior.

When taking convenience into account, online shopping is the clear winner. Customers pay a virtual visit to their favorite store without worrying about the mode of transportation or taking too much time out of their day. They will not need to spend time traveling to the mall, looking for a parking place, or walking from shop to shop. Price is always a consideration. There may be various tools on the Internet to compare prices and quickly come up with the lowest price. Online auctions may permit you to save money, and companies like eBay offer additional cost saving opportunities.
“There are more options online than in the store, that is why I like shopping at home better.” says Jaime Vaughan, junior.
There are benefits and drawbacks involved both in shopping in a mall and online shopping. It seems more likely that those who enjoy shopping may prefer to do it in person while those who detest it may be just as happy to shop online.
