There has been controversy over whether or not to use credit cards or cash in the past. Credit cards are fairly modern, credit was invented a while ago in the 20s, cash has been around for a long time as well. Older people might say it’s better to keep cash on you because it’s safer, but that’s not always the case. The new generation are using credit cards, and direct deposit for their work. Unless they pull cash out for something, give it back in change, or work with money, they don’t have as much experience with just the straight cash as older generations do. That is why cash money is so much more important to them than credit cards are.

Credit cards make the money you have in your account untouchable, unless someone gets a hold of that simple pin number. Meanwhile, cash is easily accessible. Anyone could come up to you and take your stuff, and hopefully there isn’t cash in there.
Angie Bowes, a local Wadsworth resident, answers some questions about the use of credit cards or cash and this is what she has to say, “I don’t mind using credit cards, but they go wrong sometimes and don’t work and I get my check days late. It’s better for me to use cash most of the time because it just makes everything straight forward and easier. It limits me to spending more than I have rather than spending what I don’t have on my credit or what I definitely need in direct deposit.”
Most of the world today uses credit cards and it plays a big role in the advancement of technology also. They are easy to store in your wallet, but also very easy to lose. When you handle cash it can be messy and take a while to count out the amount due, and if someone happened to get their purse taken with cash in it, they most likely won’t get their money back.
Cash and credit cards do us all good in the world and a lot of people use both perfectly fine. There are some of us that would just rather pay manually and not have to use technology, and others like using credit cards and not having to use cash. What would you like to use?
