Raising Cane’s and Chick-fil-A are both popular fast food chains. They are both known for their delicious crispy chicken. It is no question that Chick-fil-A is dominating the fast food industry, while Raising Cane’s is an undeniable favorite in the South and one of the fastest growing chains in the United States. The real question is, which one is better?

One important factor is the pricing. After looking at the menu, Cane’s prices seem to be more affordable. At Cane’s the Box Combo includes four large chicken tenders, fries, Texas toast, coleslaw, and a drink for $7.19. The equivalent to Cane’s Box Combo at Chick-fil-A costs $7.99 and only has four smaller tenders, fries, and a drink. Also, Chick-fil-A is closed on Sundays, so that leaves you with only one option for the day.

“Chick-fil-A is good, but it costs a lot more. That is why I like Cane’s better.” says Tyler Cramblett, junior.

On the other hand, Allie Hibinger, sophomore, does not mind the cost. She says “I am always in the mood for Chick-fil-A. It is one of my favorite restaurants.”

Some argue that Chick-fil-A has a lot more on their menu. With over 30 different sandwiches and other meals to choose from, it is more likely that everyone in a group will find something they enjoy. Cane’s only has a few different meals and combos to choose from.

Most would say the decision needs to be more based on the taste of the chicken. Raising Cane’s is known to have crispier, thicker chicken breast. Chick-fil-A tends to have more smooth and thinner breading. Both fast food chains have their own sauces that customers love. On a poll of 85 students, 47 responded with saying they think Chick-fil-A is better. The other 38 disagreed, saying Raising Cane’s was better.

It is hard to choose between two sought after fast food chains. There are many pros and cons to each of the restaurants. It all comes down to what type of chicken you like best, the cost, and the location of the eatery.

Chick-fil-A wins the popular vote for the best chicken. The nearest location closest to Wadsworth, Ohio would be in Fairlawn, Ohio.
